It's gotten dumber on the regular web for many years too
And by that I mean even normal searches are now monetized or return garbage results. I wrote a book in 2008 that required many people find searches to interview individuals. I could not write that book today solely based on the utter garbage that people find sites return compared to what they did FOR FREE back in that Era.
The dead internet theory is one that I am starting to believe.

It sucks that there isn't a really good deep web search engine out there. The ones that are out there work well enough, but none come close to the way old surface web search engines used to be
