True, but from my nursing experience I can't recall one patient who was released directly from ICU. The usual protocol is to then have the patient in a "step down" unit for whatever amount of time is deemed appropriate.
Generally true, if he really needed ICU care. However, usually it is harder for random people to get into an ICU, so it would be a good place to hide someone.
Yes. Guess it didn't take long to remove the hammer from his buttocks. The entire story just reeks.
