I think Musk is going to do whatever Musk is going to do - the "did everything we could to appease the activists" is just him saying "We tried, but there's just no pleasing these people" and then he's just going to do whatever it is he's planned to do all along. Don't twist my words here - my jury is still out on Musk and his intentions. This statement just seems like Musk is trying to frame the narrative that he has tried to address their concerns so the crying leftists can't say he didn't care about their "feelings".
