The definition of sanctimonious: making a show of being morally superior to other people.

So I'm guessing trump was joking around a out how they wrote his name on the ballots? Or was he legitimately trying to take a shot?

He was deliberately taking a shot ie giving Ron a public warning. Hes hoping to avoid having to "tear the shit out of" Ron.

Notice both Trump and Scavino have been posting Christopher Walkens famous Lion Speech and now its being shown at Trumps Rallies before he takes the stage. Its well worth a watch. It helps explain what's going on.
