When the commies say "They want to improve the Environment", everyone thinks of oceans, the sky, lakes, rivers, birds, bees, etc., but what the commies mean, is that they want to improve their own financial Environment by laundering money back into their pockets. The "Green Movement", has always been about laundering money.
Florida, at least NWFL, hasn't had curbside recycling for several years now. I found the opinion piece a little disingenuous, because my wife and I continue to recycle plastics and other recyclables. We simply collect them in a box or bag in the garage until they are enough to warrant a trip, and then take them to a collection area. Even our local county...the last municipal holdout...stopped taking recyclables, but we can still take them to Publix or Target.
I find this person's whining irritating. If it's that important to her, she would find a way.
Plastic recycling in its current incarnation is nothing but a fraud and a waste. VERY little actually gets recycled, most gets incinerated or buried. Do some research and then save yourself a bunch of time and effort that benefits almost nothing but your ego.
Yes, we know all about plastics. At least when the local county was doing it, they had a special incinerator to burn it that produced some electric power for local customers. If we had mixed in the plastics with our trash, it would have just added to the landfill.
No need for the snark...we are well aware of what is going on.

Recycling plastic means about 5% of it actually gets recycled. You might as well take it to the landfill.
