Imo that's what we should be mentally preparing for. That things are only getting worse and there's no end in sight till the end of our civilization. Why? Because at that realization, that the material world has no salvation to offer us, we can take the true path, which is through God. We cannot save humanity, but we can definitely save our own soul. Even in that hell on earth, we can still save our souls as long as we are alive. Not only can no one take this away from us, it is in fact the only reason we live and die, to find our way back to God. There lies unending joy and peace.
