Yes, exactly. If you tell people what the democrats want to do to the country, they won't believe it. If you let those thing start to happen in a more controlled manner but enough that it causes pain, then they'll believe it. If Trump wasn't actually in charge of the pace at which things are happening, I think it would be a lot worse than it is now.
