Yeah this is an under appreciated issue - seems like a lot of the mess we are in at the federal level would be solved by a simple rule : if you have “dual citizenship” you are not eligible for any elected or appointed office, for a term of 5 years since the day you renounce your dual citizenship. Seems pretty clear that these “dual citizens “ are tempted to put the OTHER country first and act as infiltrators
