On the way to work this morning, I needed a pick-me-up because I didn't sleep all that well, so lo and behold I have this USB stick with all my music on it and I said what the heck, let's spice it up. I found some B-52's and played Love Shack and Rock Lobster. Took me back to when I used to do stupid shit like dance the lobster dance ["Down...down...down...]. Just goes to show that age and treachery always tend to overcome youth and stupidity π
Love the B-52's! How could you not with a name like that! 'Love Shack' is THE BEST! I started dancing and singing when I read your comment! πΆπ΅
When I worked up in Iowa in the early 90's, one of the local radio stations did a parody of that song and in place of "love shack" they put "butt crack." I swear whenever that came on and I was driving I would have to pull over, because you can't drive and laugh as if you're going to die. I have searched and can't find the version, but essentially they switched the lyrics to a scenario where the "big as a whale" car they were driving broke down, and when the tow truck driver came he bent over and showed his butt crack. Man, thirty years later and I'm still laughing. I'll do a search again and see if I can find it, then post it here π
EDIT: Son of a gun, I finally found it. This version is about as close to the one I heard, and it tends to be repetitive, but it's still pretty funny:

In the theater, down the aisle!
"....and everyone had...matching towels..." lol.
It's awesome how music can take a person back. I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of it!
