I've been following Archive Anon on TS who has been making a pretty strong case regarding issues around GP/CE/TTV. I am on the fence on the matter but watching both sides skeptically and closely. One point he's made is GP is an FBI CI, and many participants in the Pit wouldn't have likely gone if they'd known that, given general feelings about the FBI/J6 etc.
So, given that, if GP is not a good guy after all really, Cates has bought everything hook line and sinker (as have many others as you note). I'm not saying he's in on it if there is an "it." One example in this whole thing that I found suspicious was the whole "GET OFF TELEGRAM IMMEDIATELY" thing which Cates did in fact do immediately, saying he trusts if GP says it to do it. Well, OK so if GP is a good guy and right, great, but otherwise Cates just abandoned a huge audience he had on there, and hence a huge outlet for spreading information/his reporting.
Now, that said, back to the original comment, Cates is often incorrect in his conclusions insofar as what is coming, and GP has a record of overpromise/underdeliver - we see in some cases retrospectively why this is, but it still brooks skepticism and a wait-and-see perspective. And while it's on the more subjective end of things, as was probably clear, I'm not a huge fan of Cates' "you can quote me on that" and various other things like his closing of the OP here, it's high horsey/off-putting. IMO.
In order to remain in touch with, in order to actually contact, the truth in the current fairly chaotic situation, with deception on every side including self-acknowledged deception from Q and from Trump (and those around Trump which is the Q team) it is critically necessary to maintain openness to dissent.
dissent
dĭ-sĕnt′
intransitive verb
To have or express an opinion different from a prevailing or official position; disagree.
To reach a conclusion contrary to the majority of the judges deciding a case; render a minority opinion.
I cannot believe that a platform dedicated to awakening would position itself so as to chill dissent.
We are not going to find truth in enforced mutual agreement.

Argument is the soul of honesty.
