It's more likely that he was just thinking of his own mother. Or an Angel comforted him.
God in the Bible, which this man claimed to believe in, outright tells you that no man can see the face of God, that the sheer brilliance would be too much for a human to witness.
Even Moses was only permitted to "see the back of God" and I doubt that a random Catholic priest whose heart stopped and was likely under the influence of many hospital drugs had something greater in him than Moses.
Admittedly, that is using my own earthly understanding, as I am not one to say that people cannot be used for greater purposes by God. Indeed, prior to 2016 it would have seemed unfathomable that God used Donald Trump for His purposes, and look where we are.
But still.
Earth is Satan's kingdom and Satan is the father of lies - so if he deceives and brings someone back from death to Earth, through medics rather than Jesus, it would not surprise me that in doing so there would be a huge end-of-life test of faith.
Though I must be careful not to judge, as even Simon Peter denied Christ three times.
