If you look into the annals of history, you'll realize that we're nowhere near the tipping point. Look at how long the Soviet Union hung around before it's collapse, for instance. Even when people are being outright abused by their governments, they often just let it happen because it feels pointless to fight it
You just have to pray that things don't get too fucked up here before people come to their senses
A big difference is that U.S. citizenry is armed, and the U.S. military is full of people who would probably back patriotic citizens over their leftist leaders.
The military is full of order followers. The military is not coming to save you. If anything it would be the military kicking in your door to take your guns and send you off to the camp. No one in the government is your friend. The government is a necessary evil that you tolerate so that you don't have lynch mobs in the street enacting vigilante justice. Sure a lot of people might get out of the military and then start spouting off a bunch of patriotic bullshit but nobody virtue signals that hard unless they have something to hide. I'm just going to go ahead and quote Rick and Morty on that.
The military went through New Orleans and disarmed the population by force during hurricane Katrina.
I agree with you for the most part, but despite being armed, we're still mostly complacent, and roughly half of America would gladly give up their right to bear arms. Plus the ATF has slowly been chipping away at the 2nd amendment, and the "armed" subset of our population will be left with pea shooters if they get their way
And as much as I'd love to say that the military would side with the citizenry, history is full of people who would commit atrocities against their own because they were "just following orders"
Absolutely agree. Nowhere close...
