I’ll be damned if I pay for my kids to run off to college and turn into progressives.

You go the way of the left, and you’re on your own financially for the rest of your life. Parents can influence their kids. Also, it starts with marrying the right spouse. I see a lot of “split families”, where the husband is conservative and the wife is progressive.
