Footsteps in the sand
One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
7 motorcycle accidents, 5 car accidents ?
Could you let me know where you'll be driving next ?
:)
That was over the coarse of a life-time. I never took a road test. I was one of the first people who tested on a motorcycle when they started having motorcycle endorsements. They had one location that used a driving course instead of the streets and that was where I tested with the officer standing on the side.
Please tell me u have a bus pass now. Geez.
Yes a great poem tho. I've read and forgot many poems over the years. However that one always stuck with me.
Yes, bus pass, quit driving in 2007, bought a new car in 2012 and was rear ended and car totaled 4 months later. Bought again in 2015 and had major fender benders twice, and gave up permanently then... I'd got married abroad in 2011 and both times was trying to make life easier for us. I'd promised God in 2007 i'd give up driving and didn't keep my promise. God did not punish me, but was definitely an I told you so.
My wife has a job which provides her free bus ID, and I have a discount bus pass at 33 A month. Where we live now has a much better bus system than Orlando has.
Reading this always gives me peace. I forget sometimes that I’m not alone and He is always right beside me.
Beautiful story.
Everytime my faith wavered, I too would think back of all the times God had saved me. Why would God stop now? Never.
We may be fickle minded, but not God. He will never stop loving us and caring for us in ways unimaginable.
Sorry my friend you live a sheltered life😁 I've had 15 car wrecks, only one my fault. 2 motor cycle wrecks minor at that . 3 parachute accidents one a total double malfunction. And one time while army paratrooper my squad got lost at eglin AFB on a firing range for ac130, missed us by yards. 3 boating accidents as a commercial fisherman.and Rode out 2 hurricanes(one fire onboard while offshore) and (once took on water and almost sank) and (once a hauling block gave way and hit me in the head )And as a powerlineman I've had one electrical contact that almost got me ( secondary power),and I almost forgot , got peppered in a hunting accident, shotgun too far away. I give all praise to God that by his grace I'm still here.
dang
Dude, last night I prayed that God would bless his Children with visions and dreams...yer story confirms the power of prayer yet again! Anyone else? I don't recall praying for the same for myself, though...
I really never pray much for myself other than for guidance.
Wow! You've been blessed! If I were you, I'd take the word "accident" out of my vocabulary. Forget those accidents ever happened and only proclaim how the Lord always keeps me safe on the road!
Are you an asian woman by chance?
My wife is kek! I have poor vision and ADD. Never should have been a driver.
