It was really disappointing, after how tight Animal Farm was. To be fair, there's more that's good than just the first and last chapter, but the middle is so chewy that it really sticks out in my mind, and kind of overshadows the rest.

To me my biggest issue was the laziness of having your screeds not portrayed by the themes and characters of the story, and not in dialogue, or even internal monologue... But by having your two main characters sit down to just read a self-insert character's books. And now you are also reading straight-up non-fiction political philosophy in this supposed novel. Great, chills-inducing ending, though.
