Do you actually believe that China can feed a population of about a billion? The number is not 7 billion, it's more like 2.5 tops

NO. Having lived in china for a year 2007 and travelled extensively. Spent time in all major cities, but flew over so many green lands, mountains ,rivers ,waterways etc. Not to mention the long drives or train trips that would look like vast sways of route 66. I for one am not buying their population totals ever.
By my calculations 7 billion people could fit in Texas, and each person would have 1,000 square feet, about the size of a two bedroom apartment where I’m from.
Texas has 0.136% of Earth’s total land area.
Your observation of vast stretches of uninhabited (or at least not urbanized) land says more about the vastness of earth than the alleged inaccuracy of population data.
The earth has more than enough room for 7 billion people, could probably support several times this number if it weren’t for corrupt governments.
TL;DR: the Earth is a lot bigger than a lot of people think. It’s hard to contextualize numbers on this scale.
