The memelords strike and we laugh with glee as light is finally being shined upon the corrupt and the dark. But is it a laughing matter?
Do we still laugh at comedy? Dave Chapelle says what he says and it's "funny". But its silence that he created by his words and is what people will remember. Its not funny anymore it draws the crowd quiet.
It is tragedy frens. We face great tragedy and there will be no comedian brave enough to stand on a stage and laugh and crack jokes at what's to come.
I dunno. I feel the same way, but we still have guys akin to Norm MacDonald. You'll just never see them anywhere mainstream. I made the darkest jokes all the time, at work, and get people laughing. The truth will always get people laughing, especially if presented in an exaggerated way. Someone was talking about dressing up as Justin Trudeau for Halloween, at work. I offhandedly replied, "yeah, blackface and all." and got a good reaction of chuckles. People know... they're just not willing to say it.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
