Last time was about a month ago about 30 miles east of Knoxville. Looked like three Chinook gunships flying south toward the Smoky Mountains. Twin rotor, flat belly. They were at about 1500-2000 feet.
Just last week, we had two CH-53's flying east. About 1000 feet. Approximately the same location [we live on a hill overlooking the Cherokee Dam]. I used to work with the Marines as they landed those beasts on the Eisenhower and the Austin quite a lot.
