The Electric Grid Still Isn't Ready for EVs and Electric Big Rigs
A study shows that the power needed to recharge electric big rigs will be equal to that of a small town.
So how will the grid handle the power needs, especially as companies like Tesla roll out EV semis capable of 500 miles of range? It can’t currently, and the reality is that we’re way behind. Bart Franey, Vice President of National Grid’s clean energy development says if the grid investments don’t start soon, the market is going to leave it behind. “We need to start making these investments now. We can’t just wait for it to happen, because the market is going to outpace the infrastructure,” he said.
It’s so bad that some businesses are already running into charging problems with the electric semis that are already on the road, like Daimler’s Freightliner eCascadia. Daimler told Bloomberg that some of their customers are finding out that the waiting period for chargers that can handle the needs of their trucks is longer than it would take for them to receive their trucks.
This whole Net Zero/Renewables thing has not been thought through. Gopvernments are travelling hopefully while saying all the "right" things that will get them Brownie points with their mates and betters.
One of the main issues that I see is the amount of land that will be consumed by wind or solar farms. It may be possible to install them offshore but that racks up the costs enormously.
Replacing the existing power stations in the UK will need thousands of square miles of wind or solar generators and we do not have a lot of space to spare.
I once did a calculation to see how much space would be required to provide all energy for the US. A wind farm that covered an area equal to eight times the size of Texas would do it. You don't have to believe me but someone should be doing those calculations prior to swapping out all the transport.
Actually, I believe it HAS been carefully thought out, by the WEF and those colluding with it, and the harm being caused is the PURPOSE for the net-zero push.
It fits right in with their depopulation-"vaccines" and the destruction of so much infrastructure for food production (so many facilities burned down, among other things) and petroleum harvesting (permits pulled or blocked for fracking and drilling), distribution (pipelines) and refining.
Unfortunately, you may well be right.
