And I’m not being a smart ass here, or trying to prove anything, I’m genuinely curious as to why there hasn’t been even a small protest In our streets. Americans are not unfamiliar with protesting, although certainly not as keen on it as the Europeans.
A friend who lives in Greece asked me this and I came up with several answers, but they seemed a little lame.

My guess is similar The government in the US has more ways to sanction people because people are more reliant on government systems.
In the US (and Europe) we know we are being tracked and watched individually and crossing a nebulous undefined boundary could severely impact our lives.
