Ask a question: Wha does it usually mean when the MSM is going easy on a Republican Politician?
That Politician is seen as unelectable. The Dems and the MSM love it when they can con Republican voters into nominating someone the MSM can demonize in the General Election. And, if DeSantis somehow wins the nomination, the MSM will waste no time turning on him and burying him.
Meanwhile, both he and President Trump will have exhausted most of their campaign cash and will enter the General Election in bad shape. Add into that 12 million voters President Trump attracted to the Party will lose hope and likely not vote, meaning DeSantis will be lucky to get 65 million votes. It will be a major victory for the Dems-MSM if they get DeSantis nominated, it will create a situation where the Republicans become a permanent minority party.
But, if DeSantis holds off until 2028, he likely inherits a MAGA coalition and a cleaned house, that makes Republicans a near permanent majority party.
Edit: You could end with another question:
So, which fo you prefer, being a permanent minority party, or a bear permanent majority party?
