There are just barely enough votes in the House to impeach, assuming all Republicans toe the line, and nowhere near enough in the Senate to convict. Impeachment is a Nothingburger. It was only a viable path had there been an actual red wave in takimg a 2 /3 majority in the Senate. That plan is out the window now.
Reminder that both Speaker and President Pro Tempore are not officers of the USA and thus are not constitutionally eligible to ascend to the presidency. Doesn't matter what the current federal succession statute says, it's not constitutional.
