Regarding The Hunt for the Skinwalker, I've been to the Uinta Basin several times and I have family out there. I had read an article in UFO magazine back in the day about the ranch just a week or two before going on a camping trip in the basin. I was so scared the whole time. Lol. This was around the time Knapp had first published an article about it in Las Vegas.
I had asked my grandpa, who lived out in the Uinta Basin, about the ranch and he said that nothing of the sort (UFOs, paranormal activity) ever happened out there.
Years and years later, just before my grandma died, I asked her and she said essentially the same thing.
I've read the book several times, once while living alone in an apartment with a windowless bedroom. It was pitch black and I was reading by flashlight when I heard a noise come from my living room. I was terrified and unarmed, but I went to investigate to find that something had just fallen over. But the fear I felt while reading mixed with the unknown sound in the dark apartment sure did make for a scary night!

...true horror is the possibility that something actually could be real....
