We've gotten so used to the privilege of judging after the fact, slow-mo instant replay sports style. On the ground things are always messy because that's humans fighting to the death. It's rare that there is a clear "good guy" in these situations. Sometimes surrender is not black and white.

Yeah, I think the Japanese and the Nazis were notorious for prisoner abuse but a lot of our guys gave no mercy either.
So no good guys then?
