There is an underestimation of how well people can assimilate and adapt to bad news. Hurricane Katrina was a "thing" for a while---but does anyone refer to it anymore? The eruption of Mt. St. Helens was pretty damn drastic, with long-lasting effects, but I will bet there are people today who have no idea it happened. And were people paralyzed---or did they wake up, smell the coffee, and buckle down to do what was necessary? Same thing with 9/11. Our problem today is that "Never forget" has been replaced by open borders.
So, stop thinking "normies" are snowflakes. Yes, the snowflakes will collapse in narcissistic funk, but that is their whole reason for living. Regular people will shoulder it and move forward.
