There must be some other reason for the poll. Who would post a poll like this as an actual question? Same with unbanning Trump, pretty sure Elon was planning on doing it before he made the poll, the poll was for some other reason than actually deciding what to do.
Might be to help Elon weed out any more bots that are left. I just voted and it's at 99.5% Y to 0.5% N
Think of it like marketing, you can't effective sell a product unless you market it and create an audience for it.
Whether we like it or not, they have to create awareness to create the audience for a larger impact.
Also it seems that Musk has been using these polls to identify bots.
