People are doing things. That is what allowed CA and NY to overcome terrific odds and flip those seats. The problem is that the rest of the Republican old school mindsets in other places kept thinking that we were going to pull this out simply by increased numbers at the polls - which did happen, but it was not enough to overcome the harvesting and mail in ballots. Sadly, the local and the state level Republican leadership did not take this threat seriously and they didn't make plans to mitigate it.
We have to get better and this needs to be gamed out at the local and state levels to improve our ground game. That is where the Dems consistently have beaten us over the years - something I have been complaining about to my own area's party apparatus since the Obama days. Unfortunately, it fell on deaf ears. I really hope they start paying attention now. Where we fall short is simply getting people involved to make it all happen. We have done better in this area, but more needs to be done. This is going to require sacrifice on our part because we don't have the money behind us to pay for such efforts. The Dems win the ground game because they have NGOs to pay for it.
I am putting this information out there so people know about it and can take steps to to combat the hijacking of our electoral system. CA and NY can show us how and they proved it can be done - even in states where it did not seem possible. If people are not actively involved in their local Republican operations, then at least they need to pony up and financially support the effort. One or the other. Simply going to vote is not going to pull this out of the fire and we can no longer sit back and expect others to carry the weight. Everyone needs to ask themselves what have they personally done to help in this fight.
