Case tossed out against Christian street preacher arrested for alleged homophobia
A case against John Dunn, a Christian street preacher, was tossed out after he was accused of violating a U.K. public order law against hate speech by publicly denouncing homosexuality.
Didn't they send them to Australia?
LOL
Yup, they used to. BTW, if you ever want to read a fascinating book about that practice in the 1800s (deporting criminals to Australia), read "The Fatal Shore" by Robert Hughes. Very interesting book about how convicts were deported to Australia for even minor infractions, like stealing a loaf of bread, and more major crimes too.
Hey thanks.
Incredible knowledge here in GAW put me in awe. LOL
Collectively, we probably could rival any "think tank" at any university in the country.
Oh yes. I can see that about the intelligent people here.
Stealing bread is inherently bad though, that's why I've been told.
Well at the time (late 1700s to mid-1800s) poverty was widespread in England and hungry people do desperate things to eat. Such was the environment in England at that time, and the upper classes were looking for a way to diminish crime. They found it in the deportation policy.
