General idea is oxygen gets pulled into the bananna through the cut where they lop it off the tree. Cover it and it will last longer. Not that lose fpil will do anything much. Have seen some testing with using wax to seal it and banannas lasting 2-3 weeks longer.
Considering how bad aluminum is for us, this is a bit scary to me. I wonder what it is doing to keep the banana fresh.
