It sickens me to have witnessed what has become of that once beautiful state. I was born and raised in SoCa and seen it go from a thriving place to live and raise a family, to an absolute downward spiral shit hole. The place is all but unrecognizable to me now and I will not go back even to visit. I left in the late 90's when I saw which way the winds were blowing. My predictions were not wrong.
God bless those still willing to stay there and fight for the place. There are still some good pockets of sanity here and there. But how much longer they are going to be able to hold the line with what is coming out of Sacramento remains to be seen. It makes succession more and more appealing and possible all the time. Those looking to leave have good grounds based upon the willful violation of the general welfare clause of their state's Constitution. I pray them success.
I agree with you 100%. My hubby and I were born and raised in So Cal (LA County) too. We both have some family living there too, and some like us, moved out decades ago. I sure hope something positive happens to turn CA back into the great state it was when I was a child.
