The extreme development of EVs the last 10 years is a very bad argument against EVs.
A modern EV has batteries with a longer life cycle than any modern car.
And when the battery pack has done its work in the EV, it can be refurbished for private properties for a small cost.
There are many drawbacks regarding EVs vs ICEs, but 1st generation EVs capabilities vs current generation is not one of them.
A 25 yeah old Car is not a modern car, my 1982 Volvo is probably the most reliable car I have ever owned if you cared for it (rust and oil changes). They don’t build cars that way any more, and seeing cars (at least here in Europe) that’s build between 1990 and 2000 is very rare, unless it’s a “classic”.
According to this article, the life length of a modern car is 12 years (200k miles for ICE, 300k for EV) https://www.caranddriver.com/research/a32758625/how-many-miles-does-a-car-last/
According to Tesla, the average degradation for batteries that’s been driven for 200k, is around 10% (90% SoH). https://insideevs.com/news/525820/tesla-battery-capacity-retention-90/
The quality of early EVs (like OPs pic, was really bad), and the battery quality of modern EVs are getting really good.
You’re not immune to propaganda, and you shouldn’t base your facts on old information.
Maybe you should update your so called research?
Take a step back, and reconsider before attacking people with different viewpoints within this community. Just because you’ve seen a meme about rusty 2005 EVs from France, doesn’t make you an expert in the area.
The tone in your post makes me worried for the future of this community, just because you’re biased shouldn’t make you act like this.
Step up.
