Funny enough it was the actress Jeri Ryan (she played 7-of-9 in Star Trek) who accused Jack Ryan of sexually assaulting her numerous times. He was the one leading in the election for that Senate seat before the charges against him. She later admitted it was a lie, but she did get her big Hollywood payday for playing her part in it all. Strange how much stuff is all connected.
