This article is way overblowing things, especially the timescale. A brief answer to all the questions at the end of the article: No. No, none of those things will happen. Obviously SC justices are not going to randomly be arrested by SOMEONE by denying a petition.
And even if they do hear it, nothing happens automatically. The 388 or whatever people are not immediately arrested or anything. As is said in the brief being analyzed, the issue is a Justice branch issue, and they are asking the court to draw some distinct lines between two SC-supported legal frameworks. But since that line had not been drawn yet, you can't arrest people for crossing a line that didn't exist at the time.
Also, do y'all really want to set the precedent that Trump's 2025 confirmation can just be pushed back by any rando saying they have concerns?
Where in the world are they getting the idea that SCJs will be arrested for refusing to hear this case? There are 7,000+ cases petitioned to the SC each year, and they only hear around 100 of them.
The article writers probably know that and are just trying to whip up clicks from places like here by making outrageous claims to benefit off that second-hand hopium
