Not surprising. So many in the UK seem to have given up. I guess it's a trait of the modern western world. In the UK, I've noticed virtually 100% (let's be generous and say 99%) of depictions of the clergy via popular cluture -- or any Christian person -- are negative. They are either evil or repugnant in some way.
I'm frankly surprised that it's as much as "less than half". I know very few brits who have a religion. Those who have are either "born again" or "Jehovah's Witnesses" with a sprinkling of Catholics, Methodists and Church of England.
And the muslims who are still entering the UK will soon be in the majority as they breed like rabbits.
