Which one do you guys use? Got a new laptop and trying to figure out which one to buy

I was told that by a Microsoft tech after I bought my new laptop. Two days later for the first time ever it was locked up with ransomware. It took hours for the experts at Microsoft to get it off there. I use Bitdefender, haven't had anything bad since then.
