Using u/making_upvotes' art that was posted a couple of days ago, I generated an stl and printed it on my Ender 3 V2. Took 37 hours and turned out great!
Thanks my heart melted :D glad to see it in physical form
I would love to see https://patriots.win/p/16ZX3MdPHc/donald-trump-portrait-neoclassic/ as a lithophane
Nice! I'll get it sliced and get it on the printer tomorrow!
Awesome!!! I can't wait to see it . too bad you couldn't send it to Italy.
It's been a crazy hectic week, but I finally finished the second litho - it came out so great!
That is so fucking awesome! Man I want that so bad.
If there's a way to dm me here, send me your address. If not here, I also posted it on Truth social, and you can dm me there once that goes live. It's in beta testing at the moment, so should be soon.
There is a way but it requires me to be near my desktop... I'll be sure too. Thank you so much man
Sweet! Nice work!
Thanks!
It's wicked! How much did the materials cost?
IIIDMAX sells PLA+ (the stronger tensile strength PLA) for roughly $12/1-kg roll.. I'd guess that took about $2-3 dollars in material + electricity to run the printer for the few hours required to print it.
Came out great!
Slicer/Cura should offer up an estimated cost after slicing the model to print, but my guesses don't take into consideration infill %, perimeters, or any of that.
Curious. Why did it take so long to print? I thought the printers were faster. That's really neat, man. Good work.
Thanks 3d fren.
I like to look at 3d printing every now and again. What rig do you have?
OP has an Ender 3 V2.
I have an Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ ($1,099): https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-3d-printer-3/
The Kit is $799 ($300 dollars cheaper, but requires patience to assemble): https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-kit-3/
Prusa3D also makes a MINI, which isn't too much smaller than the full-sized i3 MK3S+:
MINI Assembled ($459): https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-mini-semi-assembled-3d-printer-4/
MINI Kit ($429): https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-mini-kit-2/
Also, printers tend to jam as they age, so it wouldn't be a terrible idea to take the Kit route opposed to the pre-assembled route.. You'll find yourself stripping down the hotend from time to time to fix the PFTE tube / jams.
Thanks
I've got a very old MIG welder. Same principle, same jamming when the tips wear.
Nice! I have this Ender 3 V2, as well as two Ender 3 Pros. The V2 has been upgraded with dual z rods, metal extruder, and upgraded hot end. I’ll upgrade the board next, probably. I enjoy tinkering with them. I saw the Prusas in action at ERRF in October, but they’re a bit pricey for my budget. I’m looking at the new Bambu printer that just came out, it’s STUPID fast.
Sorry, I see you have an Ender 3 V2.
It's a great entry level machine if you're looking to explore the hobby. Better yet, if you live near a MicroCenter, you can get the Ender 3 Pro (one step down from the V2) for $100. I have two of them and they are little workhorses. Great way to get into the hobby.
Thank you!
I used Overture filament in white, and a 1kg spool runs about $20. So there's just a couple of dollars in filament in this piece at the most.
Thank you!
keeewl!!...
but.. you gonna share some of that cotton candy with us frens?
lol I dream of the day we can finally finish our basement!
That's bad ass!!!
