There was a missed opportunity - Ursula could have told them what to do then! I believe Russia will re-build and support the partitioned pieces, but not the Western bits that aided NATO. They already are: the people there, received bank accounts and welfare payments immediately - which were desperately needed BTW. They were allowed to vote in a referendum that was listened to. The Russians are also rebuilding Mariupol at record speed. People are starting up businesses etc. Unlike Ukraine, who devotes their ill-gotten moneys at MOAR war, and presidential palaces in foreign lands. Choose what you will.
