I saw that someone a week ago or so had posted their 1949 edition. I decided I wanted a reference book from before the hard propaganda of modern times. 35 bucks after shipping and tax. I'm looking forward to getting it and doing some research. This will also probably jump-start a vintage book collecting addiction

American Dictionary of The English Language, Noah Webster 1828 is the last dictionary worth using.
Do you have one? Man this would be a great copy to have!
I do. The only dictionary I keep in the house and allow my kids to use. Even if they Google or smoogle or whatever online to find the online definition I tell them to compare it to this. If the word isn’t in the 1828 I try to have them find a synonym that is. English used to be such a beautiful language. Edit: FYI- It was easy to find and purchase online.
