I don't think the scheduled conference vote on the Brunson case counts as date fagging. We know the date that the SC will vote on the case, but we don't know what will happen during the vote.
If the vote is for the case to proceed, then interesting things will start to occur. If the vote is for the case not to proceed, then different interesting things may very well occur (unsure about that part - could be an important marker).
Jan. 6th is a pivot point in terms of the direction of events that will cascade from the aftermath of that vote.
