Canada is a little confusing as it is a socialized country with lots of established social programs. PPC is an umbrella term meant to unite loose conservative ideals against the liberals. It includes red and blue torries...
Red Tories are considered moderate because of their focus on One Nation Conservatism. It advocates the preservation of established institutions and traditional principles within a political democracy, in combination with social and economic programmes designed to benefit the ordinary person. According to this political philosophy, society should be allowed to develop in an organic way, rather than being engineered.
Blue Tories identify more with neo-liberal influences in the US Republican Party, as espoused by Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. They have come to be termed—in the Canadian lexicon—as neoconservatives. They are more conservative to social programs.
