I have nothing about this incident, BUT I have always thought that our grid and infrastructure was too easy to sabotage. Also, I once worked for a large contractor to clean up some nuclear sites, and I noticed that a fairly large electrical station for one of the sites was behind chainlink fencing, but sitting out in the open next to a public road. I often wondered about how easy it would be for terrorists to destroy that electrical station and bring the site to a complete standstill for months.
We take our infrastructure for granted and treat it all too casually, IMHO.
We also don't have enough replacement parts in the event something like this does happen.
I used to think it was due to incompetence and stupidity... but now I am pretty sure it is all deliberate.
Definite food for thought....
I was discussing this event at a party last night, made up mostly of right-leaning people...not a woke snowflake among them, and one guy said, "What if that was a dry run for something much larger yet to come?"
Hmmmm, could be. But I also heard an interpretation from a source that said it might be the LGBTQ community striking back over a drag show that was cancelled in the area of that event. So... I don't know, maybe we'll find out.
I was kind of thinking the same thing, that's why I wanted other people's take on it.
This happened in CA not too long ago. Amazing how FBI can hunt down J6 participants but can't find someone shooting up critical infrastructure.
Exactly
If caught, the idiots would be facing domestic terrorism charges. If caught by patriots, I would assume they might not make it to a trail.
Single shot near the bottom of a transformer will allow the oil to drain and eventually it will overheat and fail.
Many models of transformers are in short supply with long lead times.
That happened in our village. Some bright spark used the oil reservoir above the transformer for target practice. It pissed oil all day, with passers-by pointing at it but not reporting it. In the evening, the transformer exploded with a bang that was heard in the next village.
Kind of an ideal way to do it. Takes time for the temp to reach critical so plenty of time to vacate the area.
Pretty rural stretch between Ft. Bragg and Wake Co. (Raleigh/Durham) Limited route between the Wake Nuc plant. A 12ga. and slugs might accomplish at the right substation...
