No one's perfect. No ONE is going to save us from political problems. Yet everyone is looking for hope and tends to latch onto every sign of agreement in perfect strangers with "Yes! I Iove this person! This is going to change everything!" etc., for instance yesterday's story that Orban had vetoed $18 billion in aid to Ukraine. Fake news, and Orban is just as much of a politician as any of ours. Same with Musk. Chopping down Twitter is a major win, but that doesn't mean Musk is a savior, any more than other things he's done mean he's a devil. Which brings me to my second observation, there's such a predictable flood of "Don't trust So-and-so, they are really a commie-pedophile-DS stooge" etc. as soon as there is a New Champion of Hopium, that I'm coming to believe in shills on both sides, one set looking to instill false hope and one to cast doubt.
Moral: judge and react to events, not personalities and influencers.
