I've seen videos of people who found them not worth it, mainly because they hold so little and take 24 hours or more for a single batch. It's a whole lot quicker to can foods. I have a dehydrator, but haven't used it much, as I can still buy dried foods pretty cheap. Also, you can dry things out in the sun under an old window glass or under the back glass of your car.
