Rothschilds had been planning and establishing settlements in Palestine for 50 years already at the point of WW2 - Plan the work, work the plan.
Longer than that. I read George Elliot's Daniel Deronda (1876) and was struck by the pro-Jewish slant.
Ah, ok. Well, no doubts. I have a book by Simon Schama, he glorifies the Rothschilds for what they did to create Israel and I can only read so much at one time. So far it only goes back to the 1890s, and how the father/son pair had zero issues with rounding up lazy or otherwise useless Jews and shipping them to Palestine to toil and die for their cause.
I can stand Schama, no doubt as to why he rose to fame and fortune.
