If it does, then AT A LATER DATE they hold a hearing where attorneys for both sides are asked questions about the case by the Justices. THEN, at some later date AFTER the hearing, the case is decided among the Justices, likely the following week if I understand the calendar correctly.
Yes you are right. But my understanding is that because it is a matter of national security, the Justices can decide the case whenever they want to, including on 1/6 or even earlier!
