Alberta has always been at the bottom of the list for taxes. The rest of Canada pays way more than Alberta does, he is probably just catching them up lol.

True, but since Alberta is one of the most economically productive provinces, the tax rate can stay low and the returns are enough to take care of the "have not" provinces too.
