Pardon thy ignorance, but why was the frog chosen as the major symbol here? I did some quick searching but most results are around spiritual aspects. (Never been a reddit usr)

I also recall it was slang for The French at one point.
Pepe is french so i see the connection, but so was the WB. skunk.
Good point. What I gathered from this site from several people is that the frogs were one of the plagues that God sat upon Egypt when Moses was trying to set his people free. If this is not true; then I need some pepes to verify what the story behind the frog really is.
So why frogs? God could have pushed any other species to the point of infestation. Bed bugs, spiders, salamanders, crows, etc. So why frogs?
True, a frog infestation would be noisy, slimy, and perhaps even dangerous (poisonous). There was an easy fix, though, simply move away from water.
What were frogs to those living in the land of Misr (wrongly called Egypt)? Heket? What of it?
See Massey, Gerald: Egypt, the Light of the world over at Archive.org, volume-I:
So you see, every creature as a symbolism of something human. Then later being appropriated with a different context, taking on a life of its own, leaving the lefty world full of salt at their loss.
Kekistan rules!
Thanks for the explanation. God bless.
