When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. — John 13:21
Being betrayed is something that almost everyone can identify with. In life, we seem to all experience betrayal at some point. Maybe it was when we were younger and in school. Perhaps it is a coworker or just someone you know socially. There are even times when friends or family betray us.
Betrayal is a violation of principle. It destroys the trust that we may have in someone or something. The worst thing about betrayal is that it often catches us off guard. We don’t always know when we are going to be betrayed, we simply experience it as it is happening.
Jesus shared with the disciples that someone was going to betray Him. What you do not read is the disciples all pointing to Judas and saying, “it’s you!” Yet, Jesus knew exactly what was going to happen. Judas was going to betray Him for silver. No one thought they would be the one to betray Jesus.
While this event may have happened many years ago, there are many that still betray God to this day. It has become so easy in our society to claim the title of Christian, but live any way that we want. We are not betraying Jesus to His death. But our betrayal goes against the calling that we were given.
When we accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, we were called to live a different type of life. We were called to live for God every day. We were not called to live for God selectively, or when we felt like it. The world needs to see Christians living for God every day. When we don’t, we are betraying God.
Jared Dyson
"The world needs to see Christians living for God every day." I believe the world is very hungry for the "living water" and "daily bread" that only Christ can provide and we may be the only testimony they see or hear.
..."this little light of mine...
...I'm gonna let it shine"....
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
I used to sing that as a kid.
However, I grew up.
When you're my age, you learn to love the kid in you.
I gave all that up years ago.
Everything that's happened in my life since then has validated my decision to cast all that off.
Good for you. I'll never give up the child in me. That's what makes me.....ME.
I was referring to that song above and everything related to it.
I am reminded of the song, "Stand up, stand up for Jesus". He did so much for us at Calvary - what we do for Him is pale in comparison. I urge others that have not already done so, to turn to Jesus now before it is eternally too late. God bless you.
Amen and AMEN!
Ye soldiers of the cross. Lift high his royal banner, we must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory.....
Is that it? I haven't heard/sung that in years. Now I'm going to have to see if I can find it online.
Thanks for the song. God bless.

Yes my friend. That is it. I used to sing it when I was a member of the Church of the Nazarene as a young girl. Thanks for posting the link with words. Now I can write them down and put them in my gospel songbook. Have a blessed day and thanks again for the wonderful Christmas gift you just gave me. Have a very Merry Christmas.
Thanks for posting! A great reminder for us all.
