Also, in Judaism, if there is even the tiniest doubt about the baby’s health, the circumcision is postponed or foregone entirely. Gentile hospitals will circumcise a jaundiced baby immediately after birth and worse.
Fwiw, when my youngest nephew had his bris (Jewish circumcision), the mohel also happened to be an MD/pediatrician and a urologist… my nephew didn’t even wake up from his nap during the entire procedure.
