I've seen evidence of the term conspiracy theory/theorist used in a book around the turn of the century (1900), no sauce. I've never seen any evidence the clowns started the term(s).

Clowns may have used the term as propaganda, effectively, to disrupt information but to make the claim the clowns started it after JFK's murder is counterproductive.
